Chinese: 前 言 一九八一年四月，丽江纳西族自治县成立二十周年大会期间，整个地方，人众腾欢，盛况空前。被邀回乡参加欢庆的部分在外的西儿女，也从祖国各地相继赶来。会上所展出的解放后各项成绩中，也有本民族历史文物、书画作品等等。儿女们看到一些先辈人物的诗文手稿本后，内心颇有触动，认为年代久了，难免逐渐破损，很有分别整理的必要，并提出了一些具体的意见。 五、六月间，刚从家乡返回昆明的郭大烈同志来访，各谈此次回乡的种种情况和感受，也涉及到如何整理保存先辈遗作问题。他并问我：是否愿意回家乡去，搞搞选编先辈遗稿的工作？我心里踌躇：对于本民族各代文人和他们的作品，我很愿意逐步获得深入了解。可是年岁大了，一生多灾多难，又衰又病，儿女们都在外面，怎么能回去担此重任呢？大烈是个和蔼而又沉着的优秀乡亲，他本人一直钻研各地历史，写作也不少。他的一再动员与说服使我感动。互相酝酿一段时间以后，丽江县文教局的聘函来了；又在地区文化界领导的欢迎催促下，我就回到了相别数十年的故乡——丽江。 我被安置在山环水绕、古木浓荫、位于玉泉公园山半的图书馆内，有全体同志的关怀照顾，也随时有来访的亲朋故
